Salvatore Ferragamo showed their Fall 2013 ready-to-wear collection on day five of Milan Fashion Week, which consisted of classic pieces with mod silhouettes such as long coats, skinny trousers, turtlenecks, shift dresses and miniskirts in black, navy blue and white.

Although the clothes were minimalistic in terms of colour and print, with the exception of the occasional pinstripe, they made up for it with a wide array of textures. Luxurious leathers, reptile skins, silk and furs were used throughout the collection. Models walked effortlessly down the runway, carrying small handbags as if they were briefcases, evoking the simple glamour of the 1960’s through sleek, pin-straight hair and winged eyeliner. There were multiple styles of shoes, the most notable of which was a knee-high sandal-boot hybrid with a pointed toe. Creative director, Massimiliano Giornetti, succeeded in creating a collection with an obvious direction that was altogether sleek, sophisticated and edgy.
